Desert
The driest biome is the desert biome because of its lack of rainfall and dry climate. It is an arid region with little to almost nonexistent plant life and low biomass productivity.
Location: Cold desert biomes are found in the Arctic Circle. Hot and dry desert biomes are found between the equator and the Tropics of Capricorn and Cancer.
Examples- Atacama Desert in Chile (world's driest place), Mojave Desert, Sonoran Desert
Climate/Precipitation: Deserts have hot and dry climate. Although the climate cools down at night, it is still droughty. They lack in rainfall and usually get less than 25 cm of precipitation annually.

Animals: Most animals that live here are nocturnal in order to avoid the high temperatures during the day. They usually remain under cover during the day and come out at night to eat and forage on plants. Animals that inhabit desert biomes include desert tortoises, venomous snakes, scorpions, iguanas, kangaroo rat, coyotes, hawks, owls, and roadrunners.
Plants: Plants in deserts adapt to the lack of water by using dew for moisture and taking in water through the stems. Plants that have these adaptations to live in arid areas like deserts include drought resistant shrubs, water storing succulents such as cactus, brittle bushes, some trees, and soap tree yuccas.
