Rainforest
There are two types of rain forests in the world- the temperate rain forest and the more well known tropical rain forest. Tropical rain forests support and serve as a habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals. It is the world's most species-rich region. The mass amount of species found here have made their protection an important objective.

Location: This biome can be found on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, South America, New Zealand, and Australia. Example - Amazon Rainforest
Climate/Precipitation: Both temperate rain forests and tropical rain forests have extensive amounts of moisture supplied by rainfall or fog and clouds. Tropical rain forests have warm and wet temperatures. The forests tend to be warm because they are near the equator. They tend to be wet and moist because of wind patterns dropping a lot of precipitation on them. The average temperature here is 25°C. This regions annual rainfall is at least 200 cm, some even receive 600 cm.
Animals: Because of the availably of sunlight, moisture, and nutrients; these forests serve as a home to more species of organisms than any other biome on Earth. Animals include sloths, bird-species, insects, tigers, elephants, chimpanzees, monkeys, eagles, orangutans, bats, and more.
Plants: Tropical rain forests lush plant growth. Plants found here include bamboo, coconut tree, kapok tree, strangler figs, tualang trees.
